500 Word Writing Competition
Summer 2 The theme for the next half termly competition is 'under the sea’. All entrants must write an original piece of writing, no more than 500 words. This does not need to be story; it could be a poem or a song. The winners will be able to share their writing with the whole school and will receive a small prize. This piece of writing can be handwritten and handed in to the class teacher or typed and uploaded to Purple Mash. The deadline is Friday 8th July 2022. Participation in this exciting competition is optional but strongly encouraged as we would like to provide the children with the opportunity to write freely and with pleasure. I look forward to reading your work!

Parent Planners
Each term, before the children embark on their learning in a new topic, we send home a Parent Topic Planner explaining for parents and carers the learning opportunities across the curriculum that each child will receive. Teachers select and suggest useful websites and places to visit which will enhance and prepare the child for the topic they are about to start. There are also useful dates and a bank of topic words that families may choose to talk through with their children.
