The Local Governing Committee of Barnsbury Primary School and Nursery
Can you Help?
We are looking for a new Community Governor to join our Local Governing Committee (LGC). Barnsbury Primary School and Nursery is part of The SWAN Trust, a Multi Academy Trust. The SWAN Trustees are the legal Governors of the schools, and are accountable for all statutory functions. At the local level, Trustees delegate governance responsibilities to the LGC. LGCs play a vital role in making sure that decisions, in line with the Scheme of Delegation and the SWAN’s strategic plan, are taken at a level closest to those affected, ensuring that every child receives the very best education. Governors of Barnsbury Primary School and Nursery LGC work closely with the school leadership team to ensure that the school continues to be successful. We currently have a vacancy on the LGC.
Members of the LGC commit to two meetings each term. These meetings are held 8:00am to 11:00am. In between meetings governors meet in working parties to work on identified projects at a time and date that suits the group.
You do not need to have previous experience as a Community Governor. A successful LGC is made up of Governors who bring a wide variety of knowledge and skills to the group, and have a shared interest in providing all our children with the very best education. If you are interested or have questions please call 01483 763114 and speak with our Headteacher, Mrs Jo Harrup, or if you prefer you can email us at admin@swantrust.co.uk
